A good rule of thumb is to fill the filter 5/6 the way up in the filter. With that being said, 5/6 may differ from bean to bean. Alternatively, for our 1L makers, we recommend using 16 Tbsp. For our 1.5L makers, we recommend using 21 Tbsp. 

For our 1.5L model, this is110g or 4oz of coffee. This is approximately 1 and 1/4 cups of coarse-grind coffee or 21 tbsp. 

For our 1L model, this is 85g or about 3oz of coffee. This is approximately 1 cup of coarse-grind coffee or 16 tbsp.
